Project Lighthouse, 2016 - Present
Mike Bruggeman co-founded Project Lighthouse, which was developed to enhance the safety and security of visitors, employees and residents of Detroit’s Central Business District. A public-private-partnership, neighborhood watch program with more than 30 local organizations and law enforcement agencies – all collaborating to keep Detroit residents, daily commuters and visitors safe. The project provides shelter, aid, safety, information, potential lodging and temporary assistance - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It has been recognized as a Best Practice of Public-Private Partnership by the Department of Homeland Security.

Downtown Detroit Partnership
Provides consultation on all security-related services to the Downtown Detroit Partnership and the events occurring as part of the Central Business District in Downtown Detroit.
GM Global Crisis Command Center
Mike served as Director of Global Security for General Motors and spent more than 33 years with General Motors Corporation. During his time with General Motors, Mike was responsible for executive protection, crisis management, travel security, threat assessments, future product security and security operations for GM’s global headquarters in Detroit. He established the GM global crisis command center and developed GM’s corporate crisis management program for global crisis teams. Mike was a three-time recipient of General Motor’s highest honor, The GM Chairman’s Honors, for his Security Leadership on major corporate projects.
Security Operations - Rock Ventures Family of Companies
Mike led security operations for the Rock Ventures Family of Companies. He also coordinated security services for Bedrock’s real estate portfolio of more than 95 properties in Detroit as well as its investments in Cleveland. Mike established a state-of-the-art Security Command Center for Rock Ventures which provides early warnings and notifications of threats and risks that could impact the company, team members, assets, and reputation as well as provide a 24/7 resource to all Family of Company team members, tenants, and visitors.
